Ten Things To Do Close To Eden
- Twofold Bay is one of the highlights of the Sapphire Coast of New South Wales.
Pristine waters and a pretty beach make it popular amongst swimmers, fishermen
and sun seekers.
- The top of Mount Imlay offers spectacular views of Twofold Bay and the
surrounding coastline. The walk up is steep but it is worth it in the end. In spring the
wildflowers make it especially picturesque.
- Snug Cove is the base for the fishing fleet of Eden. Bustling with activity, its an
especially interesting place to visit when the fleet comes in at the end of the day and
unloads their catch.
- Lookout Point is another popular spot to visit for amazing panoramic views of the
surrounding countryside. There is a picnic ground here, and a playground for the kids
as well as toilet facilities.
- There is more family fun to be had at Snug Cove where you can explore the
beachside caves and then go for a dip in the ocean. Enjoy fresh seafood at the nearby
cafes and restaurants.
- The Sapphire Coast is a popular stretch of coast for surfers. Aslings Beach is
the centre of the surf culture in Eden and a decent spot to catch a wave. The rock
pools on the shore are also worth a look!
- The Killer Whale Museum is one of the finest regional museums in Australia. It
documents the history of whaling in the area, and even has a fully intact killer whale
skeleton!
- Fishing enthusiasts will love Wonboyn Lake, which has 6 kilometres of tidal river
flow and 4 kilometres of estaury. Its surrounded by state forest and contains many
different species of fish.
- Stretching north and south of Twofold Bay, Ben Boyd National Park consists of
9000 ha of rugged coastline and beautiful beaches. Many rare bird species and lots of
wildlife can be spotted throughout its entirety.
- Eden has a rich heritage of arts and crafts, so why dont you hunt down the
perfect souvenir of your trip here at one of the local arts and crafts stores? The
McCulloch Campbell Gallery is a popular one.
